September To Do List

With the summer officially over, your customers will start focusing on holiday crafting. Pre-planning is key to help your customers find new ideas and make your holiday less stressful.

Start promoting cardmaking now! Highlight seasonal die-cuts, promote new punch and stamp products. Start producing samples of new card to inspire holiday cardmakers. Offer classes on cardmaking techniques- special card folds, envelope making, basic stamping techniques, etc.

Schedule & begin promoting your holiday photo opps. Consider bringing in people dressed like Santa, Frosty, Sugarplum fairies, wooden soldiers, gingerbread men or elves and invite your customers to come in to take family photos. Or go whole hog and hire a photographer and schedule folks to do photos with Santa.

Lock down your seasonal demonstration and make & take schedules. This will allow you to create a comprehensive calendar that will help your customers plan.

Review your “gift” offerings and fill in as needed.Consider stationery, calendars, jewelry, ornaments, wearables, totes and other products scrapbookers would want to receive and give as gifts.

Refresh your gift certificate format. Find some templates at the marketing tools section of scrapbookretailermagazine.com.

Commence the kitting. You’ll want some new page kits, card kits and tag kits for the holidays. Consider themes that are seasonal but not specific to Christmas day such as caroling, school concerts & plays, gift wrapping or shopping fun.
